Step 1: Tap the Profile Icon

Launch the Snapchat app on your smartphone or tablet. Log into your Snapchat account (if you aren’t logged in already), and tap the profile icon in the top left corner.

Step 2: Tap the Settings Cog

When your profile page appears, tap the settings cog in the top right corner.

How to Request a Download of Your Data from Snapchat – Web Browser

At one time, Snapchat didn’t offer browser support. Fortunately, in 2023, you can use Chrome, Edge, or Safari to access the site and download your Snapchat data. However, browsers like Mozilla Firefox won’t work.

Assuming you have a Snapchat-compatible browser, follow these steps to download your account data:

Step 1: Log Into the Website

Open the Snapchat website on your web browser, then log into your account with your username or email and your password. A new window will open, taking you to the Snapchat PC website, where you can check and send snaps.

Note: You may need to receive a text verification code or authorize access to the mobile app, so it’s best to have your phone nearby.

Step 2: Click Your Profile Icon

Now, the steps are similar to those of the Snapchat mobile app above. Click your Profile icon in the top left corner.

Step 3: Click Account Settings

A small dropdown menu appears when you click your profile icon (your Bitmoji). Click Account Settings.

Step 4: Click My Data

A new window will open, taking you to your Snapchat account settings. Scroll down the page just a bit and click the My Data option.

Step 5: Input Your Email Address

You must verify your identity again to move forward (at least you know your data is secure, right?). Input your email address again and work through any other verification steps.

Note: You can set the data range to download all your Snapchat account data. But the more you request, the longer it takes to receive the email to download it.

Step 6: Click Submit Request

After you’ve set the data timeframe and verified your identity, click the Submit Request button at the bottom.

Your device’s mobile web browser will open, and you can tap the .zip file link near the top of the page.

Step 3: Tap the Download Option

If you’re using an iOS device, look for the blue download icon near the bottom. Tap it to launch the Files app with your Snapchat data.

Those using Android will see the download file in their notifications. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap on the .zip file to download your Snapchat data.

Step 4: Open the Files

Finally, open the files and browse your Snapchat data.
