Method 1: Set Sleep Timer on Spotify Mobile App

Step 1: Open the Spotify mobile app and go to the music player.
Step 2: In the top right corner, tap on the three-dot icon.
Step 3: Now, scroll down and tap on Sleep timer.

Step 4: Here, tap on the relevant timer limit.
This will make Spotify stop playing after a certain time. However, if you wish to continue playback, you can remove the Spotify Sleep Timer.

Step 1: On the music player page, tap on the three-dot icon.
Step 2: Here, tap on Sleep timer.

Step 3: Tap on ‘Turn off timer’.
This will instantly disable the Sleep Timer feature on your Spotify mobile app.
Method 2: Set a Timer on Spotify Using the iPhone Clock App
You can also automatically turn off playback on your iPhone by using the Clock app. Follow the below steps to do it.
Step 1: Open the Clock app on your iPhone.
Step 2: From the menu options at the bottom, tap on Timer.
Step 3: Then, tap on ‘When Timer Ends’.
Step 4: Scroll down and tap on Stop Playing.

Step 5: Now, set the time and tap on Start.
Once this timer runs out, your iPhone will automatically stop the playback for all apps, including Spotify, on your device.
Tip: You can also set up a timer for Spotify using Digital Wellbeing on Android. However, the Spotify app must be visible on your screen for it to work.
Method 3: Create a New Automation for Timer on iPhone
Besides, the above previous two methods, you can also create an automation using the iPhone’s Shortcuts app to make Spotify stop playing after a certain time. Here’s how:
Step 1: Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
Step 2: From the menu options, tap on Automation.
Step 3: Here, tap on ‘Create Personal Automation’.
Step 4: Tap on ‘Time of Day’.

Step 5: Now, set the time and the repeat duration. Then, tap on Next.
Step 6: Tap on Add Action.

Step 7: Here, tap on Media.
Step 8: Scroll down to Playback and tap on Play/Pause.

Step 9: Tap on Next.
Step 10: Turn off the ‘Ask Before Running’ toggle. If prompted, tap on Don’t Ask.
Step 11: Once you confirm the automation details, tap on Done.

Now, once the automation is enabled, it will automatically play and pause all the music apps on your iPhone according to the set time, including Spotify.
Method 4: Set Timer on Spotify Desktop App
While there is no native method to set a timer on the Spotify desktop app, you can use the settings menu of your laptop to put your device to sleep. This way, Spotify playback will also turn off once your device sleeps. If you want to try it, follow the below steps.

Step 1: Right-click on the Windows icon and click on Settings.

Step 2: From the menu sidebar, click on System.
Step 3: Now, click on ‘Power & battery’.

Step 5: Here, adjust the sleep settings for when your device is plugged in and on battery power.
